Competitors from the Cooper Tires British F3 International Series and the Avon Tyres British GT Championship got together at Rockingham to check out the Daytona Prototype in which one of them may get the chance to contest the 2011 Rolex 24 at Daytona.
The prize drive is open to drivers in both championship who register to contest the Sunoco Daytona Challenge; points are awarded for race wins and placings, and also for pole positions and fastest laps.
After the weekend’s Rockingham rounds of British GT and British F3, it is French driver Jean-Eric Vergne who leads the way in the Sunoco Daytona Challenge, with eight points in hand over Radical racer Ross Kaiser. The leading British GT competitor is MTECH’s Matt Griffin.
