TEAM NEWS: ULTIMATE MOTORSPORT WILL BE PUSHING FOR POINTS IN THE SECOND ROUND OF THE BRITISH FORMULA THREE INTERNATIONAL SERIES THIS WEEKEND AFTER AN ENCOURAGING START TO THEIR DEBUT CAMPAIGN.
The team raced inside the top ten in the opening round at Oulton Park and after some hard work back at base they head to Donington Park looking to add reliability to the Mygale-Mercedes car's increasing pace.
Team owner Barry Walsh said: "Oulton marked a good start to Ultimate Motorsport's first ever season but we are aiming to improve round by round and we are looking to race hard for points this weekend.
"We experienced a few difficulties, as we had expected, in the opening round but we are ironing them out one by one and we are confident that the pace is in the car to at least finish in the top ten."
Both Argentine Esteban Guerrieri and Irishman Michael Devaney reached the end of the two races in Oulton Park but were frustrated to see their pace slowed by suspension and gearbox issues during the weekend.
The engineers have been working on the data over the last week to both solve the issues and find extra performance in the car and the first two races of the season marked another important experience step for the team.
Guerrieri said: "After quite an eventful debut we have learned a lot and we are looking for a bit of a smoother ride this time! If we manage to hook the car up to the circuit then I think we could be in with a chance of racing for points.
"We have always been realistic, and we are a new team. This will be only our second race and we as a team have done a fantastic job to get where we are so far. A point or two here would be fantastic."
Devaney added: "We never really got going on my car at the last event, because of gearbox and damper problems, but the guys did a great job working hard into the night to make sure we made the grid and made the finish.
"Hopefully those issues are sorted and they might get an early night this time! I am confident the more laps I get in the car the more time we will find and I am looking forward to a strong performance this weekend."
