Damp Conditions for First Free Practice in Bucharest
The teams and drivers competing in the 2007 Lloyds TSB Insurance British F3 International Series got their first look at the 3.115km Bucharest Ring. Unfortunately the first taste of the street circuit was on a damp track as the rain started to fall 45 minutes before free practice got underway. Midway through the session the drivers came in to change from wets to slicks.
Marko Asmer was the quickest driver in the session, 0.689 seconds ahead of Maro Engel. Mario Moraes was 3rd fastest ahead of Jonathan Kennard, Sam Bird and Seb Hohenthal.
Sergio Perez was 9th overall and fastest in the National Class ahead of Michael Meadows in 11th overall, who was in turn 1 place ahead of Viktor Jensen.
Second Free Practice gets underway at 12:15 local time (10:15 BST) and with the threat of further rain dimishing the times are set to be lowered further as the drivers get to grips with the brand new circuit.
