TEAM NEWS: ULTIMATE MOTORSPORT SECURED A TOP TEN FINISH IN THE OPENING RACE IN BUCHAREST BUT WERE LEFT FRUSTRATED AFTER INTERRUPTIONS MEANT THE DRIVERS COULD NOT CAPITALISE FULLY ON THIER STRONG PACE. Irishman Michael Devaney started 10th on the grid and would have had a high points finish had he not been stuck with nowhere to go when Sebastien Hohenthal spun in front of him. He continued to finish 16 th while Esteban Guerrieri, who started 14th, came in eighth. The tight street circuit proved difficult for some drivers and Devaney was challenging Stephen Jelley and Greg Mansell for position when he was caught by the Hohenthal incident midway through the race while Guerrieri had a trouble-free run. Team manager Jonny Ostrowski said: "We have been running virtually on the pace of the front-runners at times during this weekend but the race was difficult because of confusion at the start and several safety car periods. We were unlucky not to get more out of it. "After scoring points at the last round we are continuing to push for more and more and it is testament to the work of the team that while we are happy with eight place we are still disappointed not to have achieved more! "Esteban did a great job to stay out of trouble and he put in a good performance and Michael was just unlucky because of the spin in front of him and had that not happened we would have probably had our first double points finish. "We have another race to come tomorrow and we have both cars in good positions on the grid after qualifying 9th and 11th this morning so we are hoping for another strong showing and are aiming to get as much out of this positive weekend as possible." Devaney said: "The track is good, they have done a good job with it for their first attempt and it is not too bumpy, but this weekend so far has been a bit messy and we have had good pace only to be messed up by traffic - in qualifying we could have easily been top six. "The start of the race was strange because we were not told it was a rolling start and I had no radio so it was a big surprise. When I thought everyone would be slowing down for the grid they sped up, but I just went with it! "Although that meant we did not get to make the most of the excellent starts we normally have we were running high up the order. It is a bit difficult to overtake here and I was stuck behind Jelley and Mansell then stopped altogether because of the spinner in front of me. "Hohenthal was stopped in the chicane and you couldn't see his car at all, so Mansell went straight into him and I just stopped and had to reverse, so I had dropped right back. We made up places but that spoiled what could have been another good race finish." Guerrieri said: "It was a bit confusing at the start but we got away okay and we were running in a good position so it was frustrating not to be able to make more of the pace of the car because of situations in the race. "The car was great but with more or less two thirds of the race under full course yellow or behind the safety car you cannot to much. Some people fell out in front of us and we made up a few places so it was good to get some more points again."
