DRIVER NEWS: It was the perfect weekend for Cheng Cong Fu during the 11th and 12th round of the 2007 British Formula 3 series. It was a totally dominating weekend for Cheng Cong Fu with the fastest times in all the practise sessions, two pole positions, and two victories. He is now tied for the championship lead with Mexican Perez and has high hopes for the races to come. It will be an epic fight at the top of the table while both Cheng Cong Fu and Perez fight for the championship.
From the fist day of free practise, Frankie was immediately on pace with a clear gap compared to the other competitors in the National Class. In the overall ranking, he was always just outside of the top ten which shows how dominating his performance was. The car was perfectly setup for Frankie and it was one of the few moments in racing that everything came together perfectly.
Cheng Cong Fu "Brands Hatch has always been my favourite circuit. I have always done very well here during my time in Formula Renault and A1 GP. For this reason, I had expected a lot from my self this weekend and I am very glad to be able to capitalize on my experience here. It was a perfect weekend for me and I am very pleased with my performance and for the magnificent effort from my team that helped make this weekend possible. Despite my confidence, I did not expect for this weekend to turn out so well, to even be in front of my A class cars. This was also a great win because I have my parents here from China visiting me as well as journalists who made the effort to come all the way to the U.K. to watch me race. It was quite a bit of pressure for me but I'm very glad to be able to meet their expectations and it was a truly a dream come true to be able to represent my country with the best of my abilities."
Next appointment will be in Spa on 28-29th July, another exciting Formula 1 circuit for the last visit abroad for the Formula 3 British Series along the 6,9 km circuit in the Ardenne's forest in Belgium
