TEAM NEWS: Ultimate Motorsport Racing for Debut Podium at Croft

TEAM NEWS:  ULTIMATE MOTORSPORT HEAD TO NORTH YORKSHIRE LOOKING TO FINALLY TURN THEIR STRONG FORM INTO A MAIDEN PODIUM FINISH AS THE BRITISH F3 INTERNATIONAL SERIES REACHES ITS PENULTIMATE ROUND AT CROFT THIS WEEKEND.

The team has shown increasingly impressive performances as they continue to develop their Mygale-Mercedes machines and a best ever team finish of fourth and eighth for Michael Devaney and Esteban Guerrieri at the last round in Thruxton suggests a podium finish is only a matter of time.

Team Manager Jonny Ostrowski said: "There is no doubt the package is getting stronger but this will be the penultimate race and we still have elusive goals that we intend to achieve. Time is running out but we will push on all fronts to attain a podium finish!

"We have to be honest and say that our inexperience in the series was magnified at Thruxton. The peculiar nature of the surface led to us hurting our tyres and we suffered the consequence of that. But it was another important learning experience for us.

"Our first and only visit to Croft was in March. The test certainly could not be described as a success, because running was constantly interrupted by heavy snow flurries and we had to suspend our participation due to technical issues. We will return in a much stronger state next weekend."

Devaney and Guerrieri have both yet to experience the 2.127-mile circuit, they will use the first session to get acquainted with the track and then work on a good qualifying setup for Saturday, with the hope of securing top ten positions for the two races on Sunday.

Guerrieri said: "We suffered a bit last weekend on the Friday and had a bad qualifying session but we came back well and scored a fantastic result. If we can get a good start on Friday we can hit the ground running and maybe we can go one better than the fourth place we got at Thruxton."

Devaney said: "A podium has to come soon. We've been close to it for some time now but things haven't fallen into place. The last round was a tough one for me but we are looking reasonable in the points and I am aiming to pick up as many from these two races as I can. And that podium would be nice!"
