TEAM NEWS: Ultimate Motorsport's British Formula 3 team heads to Brands Hatch this weekend expecting another great result on one of the best driver's circuits in the UK. Brands Hatch marks the seventh F3 meeting of the year, in a season that has so far been crowned with plenty of success for Ultimate.
Michael Devaney gave the team, and the Mygale chassis, their best result on the famous Grand Prix circuit last year, scoring two points finishes and an excellent fourth place in Ultimate's debut season.
His experience will be vital when it comes to finding the perfect set-up for the Mygale on a track that presents every kind of challenge to the drivers. The long version of the circuit has its share of technical corners before the challenging, super-fast section when the cars head out into the woods. Finding the perfect balance for the car is always a compromise between the two sections. Given Devaney's success on the circuit last season, he is well placed to make his claim for victory this time.
The Irishman will return to Kent this weekend looking to reproduce the same form and add to the stunning double victory he scored at Snetterton just last month.
He was hindered by a tyre problem last time out at Thruxton, but still fought his way back to a strong fifth place in the second race. Devaney will consequently be targeting two podium finishes at the very least on a circuit where he has tasted success before.
Alastair Jackson and Ricardo Teixeira have both displayed their potential pace in the recent rounds and will be hoping to earn strong results at Brands to reward them for their progress on a circuit each knows well from last year.
Team Manager Andy Richardson said: "Brands Hatch is quite a complex circuit, where the smallest misunderstanding about the correct driving technique can be costly. For us, it's all about trying to get the best out of the car and our package of young drivers. It's something that we managed last year, so I'm hopeful that we can do it again. Michael should be aiming for the podium, and we'd like to target a top 10 finish for Alastair and Ricardo."
